ABOUT ME

Dr. Chernyak received her B.S. in Psychology from Indiana University, Bloomington.  She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University.  She completed her internship at the May Institute in Boston, MA and a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical health psychology at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.  Dr. Chernyak joined the faculty at IUSM in 2011.

Dr. Chernyak’s areas of clinical focus are clinical health psychology including behavioral sleep medicine, psychosocial oncology, and cardiac/pulmonary behavioral medicine.  Her research overlaps her clinical interest areas and focuses on treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction in areas of clinical health psychology practice. Dr. Chernyak has multiple teaching and supervisory roles within the Department of Psychiatry at the fellowship, internship, and practicum levels.   She is actively involved with national professional organizations including the Society of Behavioral Medicine and the Society for Behavioral Sleep Medicine and serves on multiple national committees.
